MELBOURNE - Nov 15/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system over northeastern Victoria is expected to move steadily eastwards to reach central Tasman Sea tonight. A cold front is expected to cross Tasmania tonight. A high pressure system will develop over the Bight on Monday and move towards western Victoria on Tuesday before crossing the State on Wednesday morning. Forecast for the rest of SundayRain over central and eastern districts with locally heavy falls contracting to the east late in the morning then clearing. Scattered showers to follow in the south becoming isolated during the afternoon and contracting to the coast later. Isolated morning thunderstorms over the northeast. Cool in the south, mild in the north with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds extending throughout and becoming strong over East Gippsland.Fire Danger - Locally high in the north.Monday 17 NovemberIsolated showers, mainly over southern and mountain districts. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 18 NovemberIsolated showers near the coast, clearing by the afternoon.
