MELBOURNE - Nov 14/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system forming near Adelaide this morning is expected to move eastwards across northern Victoria late today and tonight, extending across to eastern Victoria early Sunday, then reaching the central Tasman Sea Sunday night. A cold front is expected to cross Tasmania on Sunday night then a high pressure system will develop over the Bight on Monday and move towards western Victoria on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers tending to rain areas from the west during the afternoon and evening with the chance of thunderstorms. A cool to mild and mostly cloudy day. Light to moderate southeast to southerly winds tending north to northwesterly over northern districts this afternoon and freshening over the northwest.Fire Danger - High in the northwest.Sunday 16 NovemberRain areas in the east with possible heavy falls, clearing by the early afternoon. Morning thunderstorms possible in the northeast. Isolated showers to follow in the south. Cool in the south, mild in the north with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds extending throughout.Monday 17 NovemberIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, mainly during the morning. A mild day with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 18 NovemberIsolated showers near the coast, clearing by the afternoon.
