MELBOURNE - Nov 14/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak low over Eyre Peninsula will move southeastwards to be near Adelaide late Saturday morning and over western Victoria on Saturday evening. A high will move over the Bight on Sunday and remain near stationary on Monday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayA slight chance of showers in the far northwest and northeast. A medium chance of showers and possible thunderstorms elsewhere, tending areas of rain at times over the south of the pastorals and north of the Flinders district. Mild to warm grading to very hot in the far northeast. Light to moderate northeast to northwest winds in the east, ahead of a cooler fresh southwesterly change extending throughout by late evening.Sunday 16 NovemberA slight chance of showers over the agricultural area and far north, more likely over the Lower South East. Cool to mild, grading to warm in the north. Moderate west to southwest winds, fresh about southern coasts, tending light to moderate southwest to southeast in the north.Monday 17 NovemberA slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area, clearing during the afternoon. Mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.Tuesday 18 November A slight chance of showers west of Oodnadatta to Ceduna, more likely with the chance of thunderstorms in the far northwest. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending east to northeast in the far west, fresh about the far west coast in the afternoon. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm southwest of a line Oodnadatta to Broken Hill with less than 2 mm to the northeast. Local falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible over the south of the pastorals and north of the Flinders on Saturday. Wednesday until Friday Becoming hot with freshening northerly winds, ahead of a cooler fresh southwest change extending across the west on Thursday and the remainder on Friday. A chance of thundery showers ahead of the change, turning to a medium chance of showers over the agricultural area on Friday.
