Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 14/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is slowly moving east across the Tasman Sea maintaining a ridge to the New South Wales north coast and a low pressure trough over northeastern inland parts of the state is weakening. Another trough preceded by hot northwesterly winds will move through the state during Friday and Saturday, with a further follow-up change on Sunday. Behind these troughs another high is expected to move over southeastern Australia on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayPartly cloudy. A few thunderstorms with little to no rainfall and also raised dust in the far western inland. Hot northwesterly winds in northern and central districts, fresh and gusty ahead of a milder southerly change in the west and southeast.Saturday 15 NovemberHot and partly cloudy in the northeastern inland. Rain developing through much of the south and west. Hot westerly winds in the northeast. A cooler southwest to southeasterly change extending across the remainder.Fire Danger -  Severe in the Central Ranges, Northern Slopes, Northwestern, Upper Central West Plains and Lower Central West Plains Fire Areas. Very High in the remainder of the northeast and in the Far Western Fire Area.Sunday 16 NovemberAreas of rain extending from the far west and south to most eastern districts during the morning then clearing from the west. Partly cloudy in the far north. Northwest to northeast winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change extending through most districts.Monday 17 NovemberSlight chance of showers along the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds, turning southeast to northeasterly on the coast.Tuesday 18 NovemberSlight chance of showers along the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwesterly winds over the inland, northeasterly on the coast turning south to southeasterly in the south.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Saturday.Product IDN10031
