Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is slowly moving east across the Tasman Sea maintaining a ridge to the New South Wales north coast and a low pressure trough over northeastern inland parts of the state is weakening. Another trough preceded by hot northwesterly winds will move through the state during Friday and Saturday, with a further follow-up change on Sunday. Behind these troughs another high is expected to move over southeastern Australia on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayA few thunderstorms on the tablelands, with the chance of showers on the adjacent north coast. Mostly clear elsewhere. North to northeasterly winds, freshening near the coast in the afternoon.Friday 14 NovemberSlight chance of late showers near the Victorian border and on the south coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy in the remainder. Areas of fog in the early morning on and east of the ranges. Hot to very hot west to northwesterly winds, becoming fresh and gusty ahead of a milder southerly change in the west and southeast.Fire Danger -  Severe in the ACT, Lower Central West Plains, Southern Slopes, and Eastern and Southern Riverina Fire Areas. Very High in the remainder.Saturday 15 NovemberHot and partly cloudy in the northeastern inland. Slight chance of showers elsewhere, increasing to medium chance in the south. Hot westerly winds in the northeast. A cooler southwest to southeasterly change extending across the remainder.Sunday 16 NovemberAreas of rain extending from the far west and south to most eastern districts during the morning then clearing from the west. Partly cloudy in the far north. Northwest to northeast winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change extending through most districts.Monday 17 NovemberSlight to medium chance of showers along the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds, turning southeast to northeasterly on the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Friday.Product IDN10031
