Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure extending from a line near Tarcoola to Cape Jervis at 5 pm will extend northeastwards to reach a line Oodnadatta to Yunta late Friday morning and Moomba late Friday evening. A low is expected to develop near Ceduna Friday evening and then move southeastwards to be over western Victoria on Saturday evening. A high will move over the Bight on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayA slight chance of showers south and west of about Pukatja to Kingscote, with showers more likely west of about Fowlers Bay. A chance of thunderstorms west of about Pukatja to Ceduna. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a milder fresh to strong south to southwest change near a line Tarcoola to Cape Jervis, extending northeastwards to a line near Marla to Renmark around midnight.Friday 14 NovemberA chance of thundery showers in the far northeast and southwest of a line Oodnadatta to Yunta, more likely in the west with areas of rain over the West Coast district and southwest of the Northwest Pastoral and scattered thunderstorms in the far northwest. Very hot with fresh to strong northerly winds in the far northeast with areas of raised dust. Milder, fresh south to southeast winds in the south, strong at times near the coasts, tending south to southwest in the north, strong at times over the North East Pastoral.Saturday 15 NovemberA slight chance of showers in the far northwest and northeast. A medium chance of showers and possible thunderstorms elsewhere. Mild to warm grading to very hot in the far northeast. Moderate northeast to northwest winds, ahead of a cooler fresh southwesterly change in the west, extending throughout by late evening.Sunday 16 NovemberA slight chance of showers over the agricultural area and far north, more likely over the Lower South East. Cool to mild, grading to warm in the north. Moderate west to southwest winds, fresh about southern coasts, tending light to moderate southwest to southeast in the north.Monday 17 November
A slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area and south of the Flinders, clearing during the afternoon. Mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm with less than 2 mm to the northeast. Isolated falls of 10 to 30 mm are possible in the far west of the State.
Tuesday until ThursdayBecoming warm to hot with winds turning northerly ahead of cooler southwesterly change in the west on Thursday. A chance of showers in the west, gradually extending across the west and south.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
