MELBOURNE - Nov 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system is over the Tasman Sea. A low pressure trough will reach southwestern Victoria this afternoon before progressing across the remainder of the State on Friday. A high pressure ridge will then extend across Victoria on Saturday as a low pressure system forms over South Australia. This low will move across northern Victoria on Sunday, reaching the Tasman Sea at night. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayEarly fog patches in the southeast then a warm to hot day with increasing high cloud. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes. A cooler southerly change developing over the southwest during the late afternoon or evening. Isolated showers possible following the change.Fire Danger - Generally high to very high.Friday 14 NovemberHot at first over the northeast. A cooler fresh southwest to southerly change progressing from the west early in the morning, across central areas in the late morning and then the east during the afternoon. Isolated showers developing after the change.Saturday 15 NovemberIsolated showers extending across the west in the late afternoon and evening. Cool to mild day with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Sunday 16 NovemberRain areas extending eastwards and clearing in the west later.
