MELBOURNE - Nov 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system is slowly moving east across the southern Tasman Sea maintaining a ridge to New South Wales north coast and a low pressure trough over northeastern inland parts of the state is weakening. Another trough preceded by hot northwesterly winds will move through the state during Saturday and Sunday. Behind this trough another high is expected to move over southeastern Australia on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdaySlight to medium chance of showers in the northeast with possible afternoon thunderstorms on the tablelands. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot in the west. North to northeasterly winds, freshening near the coast in the afternoon.Friday 14 NovemberSlight chance of late showers across the southern inland, becoming more likely near the Victorian border overnight. Partly cloudy in the remainder. Hot to very hot west to northwesterly winds, becoming fresh and gusty ahead of a milder southerly change in the west and southeast.Saturday 15 NovemberHot and partly cloudy in the northeastern inland. Slight chance of showers elsewhere. Hot westerly winds in the northeast. A cooler southwest to southeasterly change extending across the remainder.Sunday 16 NovemberAreas of rain extending from the far west and south to most eastern districts in the afternoon and clearing from the west. Partly cloudy in the far north.
