MELBOURNE - Nov 11/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system just west of Tasmania will drift northeastwards to centred just east of Bass Strait on Wednesday afternoon before slowly crossing the Tasman Sea on Thursday. The next low pressure trough will reach southwestern Victoria on Thursday evening before progressing across the remainder of the State on Friday then forming into a low pressure system off the southern New South Wales coast during Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine and mostly clear. Cool tonight with south to southeasterly winds becoming light.Wednesday 12 NovemberFine. A rather cold morning followed by a warm and mostly sunny day with light winds and milder afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger - Moderate to High.Thursday 13 NovemberFine. A warm to hot day with increasing high cloud and light to moderate northeast to northerly winds. A cooler southerly change developing over the southwest in the evening.Friday 14 NovemberHot at first over the east and north with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds. A cooler fresh southwest to southerly change progressing from the west early in the morning across central areas in the late morning and then the east during the afternoon. Scattered showers developing after the change and the chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the east.Saturday 15 NovemberAreas of rain in the east. Scattered showers over the remainder, becoming isolated in the west during the afternoon.
