Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 11/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough stretches from western Queensland into inland New South Wales, generating some unsettled weather in the state's northeast. Meanwhile, a high south of Adelaide is pushing a ridge across the southern inland, promoting fine and generally clear conditions through the west and south. Tonight and Wednesday the high is expected to move across Bass Strait to the Tasman Sea, bringing a gradual return to warmer northerly winds, becoming hot to very hot in many areas by the end of the week. A fairly vigorous cold front is forecast to affect the state during Saturday and Sunday, bringing cooler conditions and showers to many areas, although there is currently some uncertainty to it's precise movement.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayA few showers and thunderstorms about the northern tablelands and surrounding areas, mostly clearing during by mid-evening. The chance of light showers or some drizzle along the coast and adjacent ranges north of about Batemans Bay. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to southwesterly winds, becoming light and variable inland.Wednesday 12 NovemberA few showers and thunderstorms about the northern tablelands and surrounding areas, mainly afternoon. Possible early drizzle or light showers about central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Thursday 13 NovemberThe chance of showers in the northeast, and possible afternoon thunderstorms on the tablelands. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot day in the west. North to northeasterly winds, freshening near the coast in the afternoon.Friday 14 NovemberThe chance of late showers across the southern inland, becoming more likely near the Victorian border overnight. Fine through central and northern districts. Hot to very hot northeast to northwesterly winds, becoming fresh and gusty in most areas during the afternoon. A cooler southerly change in the south late in the day.Saturday 15 NovemberFine and very hot in the northeast. Showers or rain areas extending across remaining districts, clearing from the west later in the day. How northerly winds in the northeast. A cooler southwest to southeasterly change extending across the remainder.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Wednesday.Product IDN10031
