U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Nov 10/14 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

                       National Weekly Rice Summary
                 (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California)
                             Domestic Trend
   In the south, long and medium grain milled rice prices mostly steady.  Parboiled
prices steady to weak.  Second heads and Brewers prices mostly steady.  Rice by-
products:  rice bran, millfeed and ground hulls prices all steady.  Louisiana Rough
Rice price quotes steady, however no trades reported at this price level as the
bid/ask price spread is too wide.  Rice mills continue to operate at slower than
optimal operating speeds.
   In California, medium and short grain rice prices mostly steady.  Second heads and
Brewers prices steady.  Rice by-products:  rice bran and hull prices steady.  Water
issues continue to be a hot topic for discussion throughout the state.  Market seems
to be at a standstill.
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Nov 7th, Nov 14 closed .03 higher at 11.87;
Jan 15 closed .025 higher at 12.115; Mar 15 closed .025 higher at 12.385.  US dollar
index on Friday settled at 87.64.
