Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough extends from western Queensland into inland New South Wales, generating some unsettled weather in the state's northeast. Meanwhile, a high south of the Bight is pushing a ridge across the southern inland, promoting fine and generally clear conditions through the west and south. Later Tuesday and Wednesday the high is expected to move across Bass Strait to the Tasman Sea, bringing a gradual return to warmer northerly winds, becoming hot to very hot in many areas by the end of the week. A fairly vigorous cold front is forecast to affect the state during Saturday and Sunday, bringing cooler conditions and showers to many areas.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayShowers and thunderstorms about the northern tablelands and surrounding areas, mainly afternoon. A few light showers or some drizzle patches along the coast and adjacent ranges north of about Batemans Bay. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Fire Danger -  Very High: Northern Slopes, North Western.Wednesday 12 NovemberThe chance of showers in the northeast, with afternoon thunderstorms about the northern tablelands. Possible early drizzle or showers about central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Thursday 13 NovemberMedium chance of showers in the far northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot day in the west. Northwest to northeasterly winds, freshening near the coast in the afternoon.Friday 14 NovemberShowers developing across the southern half of the state, more likely near the Victorian border later in the day. Fine through central and northern districts. Hot northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh and gusty in many areas during the afternoon.
