MELBOURNE - Nov 8/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the south of WA will move over the Bight on Sunday then remain near stationary through to Tuesday. The high will then move east on Wednesday as a trough moves over western and southern districts. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayA slight chance of light showers over the northern agricultural area and southern pastorals east of Woomera, clearing early evening. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Sunday 9 NovemberFine. Mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeast winds.Monday 10 NovemberFine apart from the slight chance of early morning showers over the Lower South East and Kangaroo Island. Cool to mild about the coasts, warm to hot inland. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh at times about the coasts.Tuesday 11 NovemberFine and warm to hot, very hot in the west. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 12 November Slight chance of showers developing in the far west with possible late thunderstorms in the far northwest. Hot to very hot with freshening northerly winds ahead of a milder southerly change in the west and south. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, with local falls of 2 to 5 mm with thunderstorm Thursday until Saturday Slight chance of showers extending across western and southeastern parts on Thursday then across the remainder of the State on Friday apart from the far northeast. Showers more likely about southern and western coasts late Thursday and over the southern agricultural area on Friday. Showers contracting to the southern coasts and ranges late Friday and to the far south of the State on Saturday. Mild to warm in the south grading to very hot in the northeast on Thursday becoming cooler throughout during Friday and Saturday. Moderate northerly winds ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly change extending throughout during Thursday then becoming southeasterly later in the period.
