MELBOURNE - Nov 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough will move slowly over northeast NSW today with showers and thunderstorms expected during the afternoon. A weak high near the Bight will direct cooler and drier southwest to southeast winds over remaining districts. This high is expected to move to the Tasman Sea tomorrow and Saturday maintaining generally fine and stable weather conditions across the state with temperatures becoming hot again in the west. A trough is forecast to reach the far southwest late Saturday then move through most of the state on the Sunday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayShowers and thunderstorms in the northeast, chiefly about the coast and eastern ranges during the afternoon where isolated severe storms are possible. A little early drizzle possible about eastern parts of the southern ranges. Fine and partly cloudy remainder. Early fog patches about the southern and central ranges. North to northeasterly winds in the far northeast, with southeast to southwesterly winds extending through the remainder.Fire Danger - Very High: Northern Slopes, North Western, and Upper Central West Plains fire areas.Friday 7 NovemberThe chance of showers in the far northeast, otherwise fine and partly cloudy. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Saturday 8 NovemberSlight chance of a shower or two about the far northern coast in the morning, otherwise fine and mostly sunny. Hot to very hot day over the western inland. Northeast to northwesterly winds, turning southwesterly in the southwest later.Sunday 9 NovemberThe chance of showers along the southern and central coasts, and adjacent tablelands. Possible thunderstorms on the tablelands. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot day over the northern inland.
