MELBOURNE - Nov 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the Tasman Sea will extend a the ridge along the east Queensland coast. A surface trough over the interior of the state will shift slowly east during the next couple of days. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayA moderate chance of showers and thunderstorms in a broad band along the surface trough stretching from the Gulf Country down to the southern interior. More isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible about the eastern tropical interior, and showers likely about the north tropical coast in an onshore flow. Fine over the southeast apart from the chance of a possible late shower or thunderstorm. Fine elsewhere except for some isolated thunderstorms about the far southwest. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds across the eastern districts, and light to moderate southwest to southeast winds elsewhere.Thursday 6 NovemberThere will be a moderate chance of showers and thunderstorms near the surface trough from the central interior to the southeast and in the northwest. It should be fine elsewhere in the state except for some showers and thunderstorms in the northern tropics.Friday 7 NovemberHotter, drier air pushing in from central Australia should produce fine and hot conditions over the interior.
