MELBOURNE - Nov 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough over eastern Victoria will reach the Tasman Sea this morning as a weak low pressure over eastern Bass Strait drifts slowly eastwards to the Tasman Sea on Wednesday and Thursday. A high pressure system will move over the State on Wednesday and Thursday and reach the Tasman Sea on Friday. A low pressure trough will cross Victoria on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers or drizzle patches in the south, contracting eastwards during the morning and mostly clearing during the afternoon. Possible afternoon thunderstorms about the eastern ranges. A mild and mostly sunny day in the north but cooler and partly cloudy in the south. Moderate to locally fresh southwest to southerly winds in the east, easing later in the west.Fire Danger - Moderate to high.Thursday 6 NovemberFine apart from early morning fog patches in the south and west. A mild to warm and partly cloudy day with generally light to moderate westerly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 7 NovemberFine. Warm to hot and mostly sunny inland with light to moderate northerly winds. Milder along the Gippsland coast with afternoon seabreezes.Saturday 8 NovemberWarm to hot over over much of the State with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds. A cooler southwesterly change extending from the southwest late morning, reaching the far east at night.
