Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the western Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards the New South Wales coast. A low pressure trough and associated cold front is forecast to move into western New South Wales tonight, bringing with it a cooler southwesterly wind change. The trough will move across to the northeast of the state on Wednesday with storms and showers developing during the afternoon on the central and northern ranges and adjacent coasts and a southerly wind change moving up the south and central coasts. The trough will move through the far northeast of the state on Thursday with a high pressure ridge developing over the southern Tasman Sea by the end of the day.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPartly cloudy. Fine. Northwest to northeasterly winds, fresh along the coast. Warm in the west, with a late cool southerly change in the southwest.Wednesday 5 NovemberMedium chance of showers and thunderstorms in the east, increasing to a high chance in the northeast. Storms most likely during the afternoon, and possibly severe. Mostly sunny over the remainder. Hot in the northern inland. Northeast to northwesterly winds in the northeast, fresh near the coast. A south to southwest change extending through the remainder.Fire Danger -  Very High over the Upper and Lower Central West Plains, Northwestern, Greater Sydney, Greater Hunter, North Coast, Central Ranges and Eastern Riverina.Thursday 6 NovemberHigh chance of showers and storms in the northeast, most likely during the afternoon. Fine remainder, apart from some drizzle over the eastern slopes of the central ranges during the morning. Southeast to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Friday 7 NovemberSlight chance of showers along the northern coast and adjacent ranges. Fine remainder. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 8 NovemberSlight chance of showers about the far northern coast early in the morning. Early fog patches in the east. Otherwise fine and mostly sunny. Mainly northeast winds, although turning southwest in the far west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Wednesday.Product IDN10031
