Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over Victoria will enter the Tasman Sea today, reinforcing the ridge along the east Queensland coast. A surface trough over the eastern interior of the state will shift slowly west during the next couple of days. A coastal trough will move north along the Capricornia coast today. An upper level trough will also shift east over central districts today before contracting into the Coral Sea on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayShowers and possible storms about the far eastern tropics and northwest, with more isolated activity over the northern and central interior. Fine over the southern districts except for the slight chance of a shower about the southern interior and far southeast. Light to moderate northeast to southeast winds across the state, fresh at times about the central coast.Wednesday 5 NovemberA moderate chance of showers and storms in a broad band along the surface trough stretching from the Gulf Country down to the southern interior. More isolated showers and storms are possible about the eastern tropical interior, and showers likely about the north tropical coast in an onshore flow. Fine over the southeast apart from the chance of a possible late shower or storm. Mostly fine elsewhere.Thursday 6 NovemberThe moderate chance of showers and storms near the surface trough in a broad band from the northwest down to the southeast of the state. Fine elsewhere about the state except for some showers about the north tropical coast.Friday 7 NovemberHotter, drier air pushing in from central Australia should produce fine and hot conditions over the interior. The chance of some showers and storms about the northwest of the state and the southeast ahead of a surface trough.Saturday until MondayAn upper and lower level ridge over central Australia should dominate the weather pattern, yielding fine, hot and sunny conditions across most of Queensland during the weekend and into the new week.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Tuesday.Product IDQ10700
