U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Nov 3/14 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

                             Domestic Trend
   In the south, long grain milled rice prices mostly steady to 1.00 lower.  Medium
grain milled rice prices steady to .50 higher.  Parboiled prices steady to .50 lower.
Second heads prices mostly steady.  Brewers trading steady to 1.00 lower.  Rice by-
products:  rice bran, millfeed and ground hulls prices all steady to 5.00 higher.
Louisiana Rough Rice price quotes steady, however no trades reported at this price
level as the bid/ask price spread is too wide.  Rice mills continue to operate at
slower than optimal operating speeds.
   In California, medium and short grain rice prices steady.  Second heads and
Brewers prices steady.  Rice by-products:  rice bran and ground hulls prices steady.
Water issues continue to be a hot topic for discussion throughout the state.
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Oct 31th, Nov 14 closed .095 higher at
12.005; Jan 15 closed .075 higher at 12.285; Mar 15 closed .07 higher at 12.56.  US
dollar index on Friday settled at 87.09.
