MELBOURNE - Nov 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the Bight will move eastwards to be south of Mount Gambier late Sunday night. A trough will move over western parts of the State during Monday then over central and eastern parts during Tuesday, followed by another high developing over the Bight on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine apart from a slight chance of light morning showers about the southern coasts on Eyre, Yorke and Fleurieu Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East coast. Mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds and moderate to fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes.Monday 3 NovemberFine apart from the chance of thundery showers developing in the west, most likely in the west of the Northwest Pastoral. Warm to hot with moderate east to northeasterly winds freshening in the west ahead of a milder southerly change in the west.Tuesday 4 NovemberSlight chance of light morning showers about southern and western coasts. The chance of showers developing on and east of the Flinders Ranges and the chance of thundery showers in the far northwest during the afternoon. Warm to hot with northerly winds over eastern parts of the State, shifting milder southerly during the day.Wednesday 5 November Fine. Moderate southeasterly winds. Mild to warm about southern coasts, grading to hot to very hot over in the north and west. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, with local falls of 2 to 10 mm with thunderstorms. Thursday until SaturdayFine on Thursday then the slight chance of showers developing over western parts of the State and southern coasts on Friday, extending over remaining parts of the State apart from northeast of about Leigh Creek to Oodnadatta on Saturday. Mild to warm in the south, hot to very hot in the north.
