Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 31/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is forecast to strengthen in the Tasman Sea today while a cold front approaches NSW from the southwest, with hot, dry northwesterly winds developing between these systems over most inland areas. The front is expected to move through southern, western and central districts on Saturday with hot, strong and gusty northwesterly winds over much of the northeastern half of the state prior to the change. Some fairly widespread light rain is expected over the southern inland with this front, with shower and thunderstorm activity likely for much of the remainder of the state with only a little rainfall and potentially squally winds associated. The change should move through the northeast on Sunday with milder southwest to southeast winds extending throughout. Current guidance suggests temperatures will increase through the west of the state again next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and gusty thunderstorms developing about the northeast third, more likely about the central north. The chance of showers in the far southwest in the late evening. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot in most of the state though milder on the ranges and along the coast with a strengthening northeasterly sea-breeze. Freshening, dry northwesterly winds inland before a southwest change reaches the southwest border area at night.Saturday 1 NovemberRain areas over the southern inland, clearing in the afternoon. High chance of showers and thunderstorms developing over most remaining districts during the day though less likely in the northwest, then contacting to the east later. Hot, fresh to strong and gusty northwesterly winds for most of the northeast half though strong northeasterly seabreezes along the coastal fringe in the far north. A cooler, gusty southwesterly change extending through southern, western and central districts.Fire Danger -  Very High through the northen inland, northeast, central east and parts of the Riverina. Severe in the North Coast, Greater Hunter, Upper Central West Plains and North Western Fire Areas.Sunday 2 NovemberMedium chance of showers about the northeast with possible thunderstorms in the far northeast. Medium chance of showers on the far south coast. Fine and mostly sunny remainder. Cooler southwest to southeast winds extending through most districts though very warm conditions persisting for the far northern inland.Monday 3 NovemberSlight chance of showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, increasing to a medium chance in the north. Fine and mostly sunny in the remainder. East to southeast winds.Tuesday 4 NovemberMedium chance of showers along the north coast and adjacent ranges and also the central ranges. Slight chance of showers on the central coast and southern ranges. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere.
