Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 30/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A 1016 hPa high centred over the Lower South East district will move eastwards to be centred over the Tasman Sea by Thursday afternoon. A cold front near the western border around midnight Thursday will move northeastwards over South Australia during Friday, reaching Moomba around midnight. A new high will move in south of the Bight by Saturday night and move east to be south of Mount Gambier late Sunday night.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThundery showers west of about Ernabella to Fowlers Bay. Warm to hot. Light variable winds, tending moderate northeast to northwesterly winds in the west. Local afternoon and early evening sea breezes.Friday 31 OctoberA chance of thundery showers extending northeastwards across the State, apart from northeast of Marree and more likely in the Northwest Pastoral. Showers possibly increasing to patchy rain over the agricultural area in the evening. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler moderate to fresh south to southwest change near the western border early morning, extending to Moomba around midnight.Saturday 1 NovemberA chance of showers about the southern agricultural area, clearing in the afternoon. A chance of thundery showers over the Northeast Pastoral district, contracting northeastwards and clearing during the late afternoon or evening. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds, strong at times about southern coasts.Sunday 2 NovemberFine apart from a chance of morning showers about the Lower South East coast and southern Kangaroo Island. Mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate south to southeast winds and fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes.Monday 3 November
A chance of thundery showers developing in the far northwest. Fine elsewhere. Warm to hot with moderate east to northeasterly winds freshening in the west ahead of a milder southerly change in the west.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Monday are expected to be generally 2 to 5 mm, with local falls of 5 to 10 mm with thunderstorms.
Tuesday until ThursdayFine apart from the chance of thundery showers in the northwest during Tuesday and Wednesday and the slight chance of showers about the Lower South East coast on Thursday. South to southwesterly winds extending throughout early in the period then turning east to northeasterly in the west during Thursday. Mild to warm about southern coasts, grading to hot to very hot over in the north and west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
