Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 28/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Bight will cross Victoria on Wednesday to reach the Tasman Sea on Thursday where it will maintain a ridge over Victoria until late Thursday. A cold front will move from the Southern Ocean to reach western Victoria late on Friday afternoon then cross the remainder of the State by Saturday morning. Another high pressure system will move over Bight waters later on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers on and south of the ranges contracting to the coast this evening. Moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, strong and gusty near the coast and about the ranges.Wednesday 29 OctoberMorning fog patches inland. Isolated morning showers about the Gippsland coast, also possible on the west coast in the afternoon. Otherwise fine and partly cloudy. Cool to mild in the south, warmer inland. Light to moderate west to southwesterly winds shifting northwesterly.Thursday 30 OctoberFine apart from morning fog patches inland and the chance of showers about the west and central coasts in the morning. Mostly sunny and mild to warm with light winds inland and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 31 OctoberBecoming cloudy with isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms developing in the west during the afternoon and extending eastwards in the evening. Warm to hot with strengthening northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change in the west, extending to the east overnight.Saturday 1 NovemberIsolated showers in the south and east, although more widespread in Gippsland at first, gradually easing and contracting to the coast. Cool to mild and mostly cloudy with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds. Warm and mostly sunny in the far north.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Wednesday.Product IDV10310
