Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will move through Bass Strait on Tuesday as a high pressure system crosses the Bight. The high will cross northern Victoria on Wednesday to reach the Tasman Sea on Thursday but a trailing ridge will persist over Victoria until late Thursday. Another cold front will move from the Southern Ocean to reach western Victoria late on Friday afternoon then cross the remainder of the State by Saturday morning.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers extending across southern and mountain areas this morning and isolated showers reaching the northern plains. The showers mostly clearing this evening although some showers persisting on the coast and over South Gippsland. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds, strong and gusty near the coast and about the ranges and tending west to southwesterly by the afternoon.Wednesday 29 OctoberMorning fog patches inland. Isolated morning showers possible about the Gippsland coast, then developing on the west coast later. Otherwise fine and partly cloudy. Cool to mild in the south, warmer inland. Light to moderate west to southwesterly winds shifting northwesterly.Thursday 30 OctoberFine apart from the chance of showers about the west and central coasts. Mostly sunny and mild to warm with light winds inland and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 31 OctoberFine at first although showers developing in the west during the afternoon and extending eastwards in the evening. Warm to hot with strengthening northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change in the west, extending to the east overnight.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
