MELBOURNE - Oct 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will move through Bass Strait on Tuesday as a high pressure system crosses the Bight. The high will reach the Tasman Sea Thursday and extend a ridge across Victoria. Another cold front will cross Victoria later on Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers on and south of the ranges contracting to the coast tonight. Isolated thunderstorms in the far east, clearing. Fresh to strong west to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 28 OctoberIsolated showers mainly on and south of the ranges, more widespread near the coast and clearing later. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds, strong and gusty near the coast.Wednesday 29 OctoberMorning fog patches inland. Isolated morning showers possible about the Gippsland coast, then developing on the west coast later. Otherwise fine and partly cloudy. Cool to mild in the south, warmer inland. Light to moderate west to southwesterly winds shifting northwesterly.Thursday 30 OctoberFine apart from the chance of showers about the west and central coasts. Mostly sunny and mild to warm with light winds inland and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 31 OctoberFine at first although showers developing in the west during the afternoon and extending eastwards in the evening.
