Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 26/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards the New South Wales Coast while a low pressure trough lies over western New South Wales. On Monday a front will move across the south and west of the state, bringing with it a gusty wind change and considerably cooler temperatures to the south and west, along with the chance of showers and storms throughout. The front will reach the northeastern third of the state late Monday night, with somewhat cooler conditions expected in these parts of Tuesday. A return to mostly dry conditions on Tuesday, with cooler conditions expected throughout. A high will develop in the Tasman Sea on Wednesday and its associated onshore flow may produce showers along central and northern parts of the coast.
Forecast for the rest of SundayThe chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms over much of the state, although most likely near the Victorian border. Northwest to southwesterly winds inland, and northeast to southeasterly winds near the coast.Monday 27 OctoberThe chance of showers and storms across most of the state, most likely over the Riverina district and western slopes of the southern ranges. Low rainfall totals expected over all but the western slopes of the far southern ranges. Hot northwesterly winds in the north, freshening and tending cooler southwesterly in the south. Northeasterly seabreezes near the coast, ahead of a fresh southerly change in southern and central parts.Fire Danger -  Very high over large portions of the state, reaching Severe in the northeast.Tuesday 28 OctoberA slight chance of showers in the northeast. Dry and sunny for the remainder. Fresh and gusty west to southwest winds except for seabreezes along the coastal fringe.Wednesday 29 OctoberThe chance of showers along central and northern parts of the coast. East to southeast winds east of the Divide. South to southwest winds in the west.Thursday 30 OctoberThe chance of showers in the northeast. Dry over the remainder. Light winds, turning fresh northeasterly along the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Monday.Product IDN10031
