Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 26/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough over SA will continue to move eastwards to be near Broken Hill late this evening. A ridge of high pressure will extend over the State on Tuesday and Wednesday. A second trough of low pressure will move over South Australia on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayThundery showers over most districts gradually contracting to the Pastoral and Flinders this evening. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a cooler, fresh southwesterly change extending over eastern districts during the evening.Monday 27 OctoberPossible thundery showers over the Pastoral and Flinders districts contracting north and clearing by the afternoon. The slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area, increasing to a medium chance of showers over the Lower South East coast during the morning. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north.Tuesday 28 OctoberThe slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area, increasing to a high chance of showers over the Lower South East coast, all contracting to the Lower South East coast late in the day. Moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds in the south, light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds in the north. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north.Wednesday 29 OctoberSlight chance of afternoon thundery showers in the far northwest. Slight chance of early morning showers over the Lower South East coast. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds turning northeasterly over the North West Pastoral district during the day.Thursday 30 October
Slight chance of thundery showers developing west of about Ernabella to Nullarbor. Warm to hot. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Thursday are expected to be less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm in the coastal areas in the South East districts.
Friday until SundayThe slight chance of showers extending eastwards to most districts on Friday then clearing later in the period. Warm to hot northerly winds shifting cooler southerly during Friday and Saturday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
