MELBOURNE - Oct 25/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1016hPa centred south of Tasmania will move east to be over Tasman Sea during today. A trough will extend across the State from the west today to reach Broken Hill late evening. A new ridge of high pressure will extend over the State on Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayGusty thundery showers in the west extending over most districts by the afternoon. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a cooler, fresh southwesterly change developing in the far west early in the morning, extending eastwards during the day.Monday 27 OctoberPossible thundery showers northwest of Coober Pedy to Broken Hill contracting north and clearing by the afternoon. The slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area, increasing to a medium chance of showers over the Lower South East coast until late afternoon. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north.Tuesday 28 OctoberThe slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area, contracting south to clear by the afternoon. A medium chance of showers over the Lower South East coast in the morning. Moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds in the south, light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds in the north. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north.Wednesday 29 October Slight chance of thundery showers in the far northwest developing in the afternoon. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north with light to moderate southeast to southwest winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm in the coastal areas in the South East districts.
