Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 25/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will pass across Tasmania overnight, reaching the southern Tasman Sea by Sunday morning. A cold front approaching from the west will reach western Victoria at night and will cross the remainder of the State Monday morning. Another cold front will move through Bass Strait on Tuesday as a high pressure system crosses waters south of the Bight. The high will weaken as it move across Victoria on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms this evening over the far east. Moderate southerly winds gradually easing.Sunday 26 OctoberLocal early fogs in the south and east. The chance of thundery showers extending from the west. A warm to hot day with light winds tending moderate north to northwesterly wind ahead of a cooler gusty westerly change entering the far west during the evening. Afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Monday 27 OctoberCooler, fresh west to southwesterly change extending throughout during the morning. Isolated showers over the north clearing eastwards during the morning. Scattered showers in the south becoming isolated and contracting to the coast by the evening. Possible thunderstorms clearing eastwards during the morning.Tuesday 28 OctoberIsolated showers developing over mainly southern and mountain areas, scattered near the coast. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds, strong and gusty near the coast.Wednesday 29 OctoberFine, mild and sunny inland with generally light winds. Cooler and partly cloudy near the coast with isolated showers and moderate northwest winds tending southwesterly.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
