MELBOURNE - Oct 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred to the south of the Bight will move east today as a weak trough remains over the north of the State. A more significant trough will extend from the west during Sunday followed by a new ridge of high pressure extending over the State on Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from possible early morning drizzle about southern and western coasts and the slight chance of thundery showers developing over the West Coast and parts of the Pastoral districts. Mild to warm near the coasts, grading to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds.Sunday 26 OctoberFine in central and eastern parts initially. Areas of cloud with the slight chance of thundery showers in the west during the afternoon, extending to most districts by evening. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds in the morning, ahead of a cooler, fresh southwesterly change, extending eastwards during the afternoon and evening.Monday 27 OctoberPossible thundery showers northwest of Coober Pedy to Broken Hill. The slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area, increasing to a medium chance of showers over the Lower South East. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far northeast.Tuesday 28 October The slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area, increasing to a medium chance over the Lower South East. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm in the Lower South East and with thunderstorms in the west. Wednesday until FridayThe slight chance of showers about southern coasts on Wednesday. The slight chance of showers developing in the far west during Thursday extending east over all districts during Friday, apart form the Northeast Pastoral.
