MELBOURNE - Oct 18/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge over New South Wales is weakening while a cold front over the Bight is approaching from the west. The cold front will reach the far south of the state late on Sunday, then an associated southerly change will extend through the remainder of New South Wales on Monday. Behind the front another high pressure system will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea by Tuesday and extend a ridge across the New South Wales on Tuesday and Wednesday. During Thursday a low pressure trough is expected to move over the southwest of the state as the high in the Tasman Sea weakens. Forecast for the rest of SundayMostly dry and sunny, apart from some high cloud developing over southern districts and the slight chance of a late shower on the far southern ranges. Early fog patches along the ranges. North to northeasterly winds, freshening along the coast in the afternoon ahead of a late southerly change on the South Coast.Monday 20 OctoberMedium chance of showers about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges. Slight chance of showers on the northern coast late in the day. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Light winds in the north, ahead of a moderate to fresh south to southeasterly change extending throughout.Tuesday 21 OctoberMedium chance of showers along the northern coast. Slight chance of showers for the ranges and on the south and central coasts. Mostly sunny west of Divide. East to northeast winds.Wednesday 22 OctoberSlight chance of showers on the north coast and in the far southwest. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
