MELBOURNE - Oct 18/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system is currently over the Tasman Sea. A low pressure trough will reach the far southwest of Victoria early Sunday morning then move across the remainder of the State during Sunday. Another high pressure system will pass to the south of Victoria on Monday then drift eastwards over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. Another low pressure trough will reach western Victoria later on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from the slight chance of showers over the far south. Partly cloudy with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds, fresh at times in the west. Afternoon and evening coastal seabreezes in Gippsland.Sunday 19 OctoberWarm to hot and mostly sunny in the north and east with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds. A cooler, gusty south to southwesterly change over the southwest during the morning, gradually extending to remaining districts, reaching the far northeast at night. Drizzle patches developing over the southeast at night behind the change.Monday 20 OctoberFine apart from the medium chance of showers over Gippsland during the morning. Warm inland but cooler in the south with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds. Morning cloud in the south, otherwise mostly sunny.Tuesday 21 OctoberFine and mostly sunny. A warm to hot day with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds. Milder afternoon sea breezes along the Gippsland coast.Wednesday 22 OctoberFine at first. Cloud increasing from the west with the slight chance of showers developing over the west from the afternoon. Showers becoming more likely in the southwest at night.
