MELBOURNE - Oct 17/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over Tasmania will move to just east of Bass Strait by Saturday morning then drift slowly over the northern Tasman Sea on Sunday. A low pressure trough will enter the far southwest of the State Saturday night before moving across the remainder of Victoria during Sunday. Another high pressure system will pass to the south of Victoria on Monday then drift eastwards over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of FridayFine, cool and mostly clear with generally light winds.Saturday 18 OctoberFine apart from the slight chance of showers in the southwest during the morning and early afternoon. A warm to very warm and mainly sunny day in the north. Mild to warm and partly cloudy in the south. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, locally freshening in the south.Sunday 19 OctoberWarm to hot and mostly sunny in the north and east with moderate to fresh northwest to northerly winds. A cooler, gusty southwest to southerly change over the southwest during the morning, gradually extending to remaining districts, but not reaching the far northeast until night. Remaining dry after the change but cloud increasing.Monday 20 OctoberFine apart from the slight chance of showers over East Gippsland during the morning. Warm inland but cooler in the south with moderate to locally fresh southeasterly winds. Morning cloud in the south, otherwise mostly sunny.Tuesday 21 OctoberFine apart from the slight chance of showers over the eastern highlands in the afternoon.
