MELBOURNE - Oct 17/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A relatively weak cold front moved along the coast during Friday, with a few associated showers east of the Divide. Following this, a high pressure system is expected to move across the state from the west, reaching the Tasman Sea by Saturday while extending a ridge towards the Queensland coast. This should maintain fine conditions in most districts through the weekend, with temperatures forecast to increase before another southerly change along the coast on Monday. This next change is likely to be fairly short-lived, with a return to warmer northerly winds by mid-week, especially over the inland, as a high over the Tasman Sea once again becomes dominant. Mostly south to southeasterly winds, tending light and variable in the far west.Saturday 18 OctoberShowers along the northern coast and adjacent ranges, contracting to areas near the Queensland border by evening. North to northeasterly winds, freshening along the coast in the afternoon ahead of a late southerly change on the South Coast.Monday 20 OctoberShowers developing about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges, more likely near the coastal fringe and extending to the north coast late in the day.
