Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 16/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

A relatively weak cold front will move along the coast during Friday, with a few associated showers east of the Divide. Following this, a high pressure system is expected to move across the state from the west, reaching the Tasman Sea by Saturday while extending a ridge towards the Queensland coast. This should maintain fine conditions in most districts through the weekend, with temperatures forecast to increase before another southerly change on Monday. This next change is likely to be fairly short-lived, with a return to warmer northerly winds by mid-week as a high over the Tasman Sea once again becomes dominant.
Forecast for the rest of FridayShowers about the coast and adjacent ranges, clearing from the south during day though becoming more likely in the north in the afternoon. Possible early snow showers above 1400 metres on the Alps. Fine and sunny elsewhere. Early fog patches in the east, and local frost patches on the tablelands. Mostly south to southeasterly winds, tending light and variable in the far west.Saturday 18 OctoberShowers along the northern coast and adjacent ranges, contracting to areas near the Queensland border by evening. Fine and sunny elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Sunday 19 OctoberFine apart from the chance of an early shower on the far north coast. Mostly sunny. North to northeasterly winds, freshening along the coast in the afternoon ahead of a late southerly change on the South Coast.Monday 20 OctoberShowers developing about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges, more likely near the coastal fringe. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds. The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Friday.Product IDN10031
