MELBOURNE - Oct 16/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure over the State will move slowly eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea by Friday night. A weak trough of low pressure will move into the far west late on Friday then over western and southern coastal parts of the State over the weekend. Another trough will move over western parts of the State early next week. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine and mostly clear. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds tending east to northeasterly in the west. Winds fresh at times about the coast.Friday 17 OctoberEarly morning frost patches in the Murraylands and Southeast. A mostly sunny day with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds, freshening in the west during the morning. Winds shifting moderate southerly in the far west during the evening. Mild to warm in the southeast grading to hot in the north and west.Saturday 18 OctoberFine. Mostly sunny in the east, some high cloud increasing in the west. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting southerly in the far west.Sunday 19 OctoberFine, dry and hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting milder southerly about western and southern coasts.Monday 20 October Slight chance of showers and and possible thunderstorm in the far west during the late afternoon and evening. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting milder southerly in the far west during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Sunday are expected to be less than 2 mm in the far west. Nil rain is expected elsewhere. Tuesday until ThursdaySlight chance of showers over western districts during Tuesday, then over the agricultural area and western coasts on Wednesday contracting to the coasts in the evening. Slight chance of showers continuing about the coasts on Thursday and also in the north.
