Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 16/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front crossing eastern Victoria will clear the State tonight. A high pressure system south of the Bight will pass just to the south of Victoria on Friday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Saturday. A low pressure trough will enter the far southwest of the State late Saturday before moving across the remainder of the Victoria during Sunday. Another high pressure system will pass to the south of Victoria on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayA band of showers clearing the east tonight. Southwest to southerly winds gradually easing.Friday 17 OctoberMorning fog and frost patches inland. A slight chance of light showers over Gippsland during the morning. Dry and mainly sunny over the remainder. Cool in the south, mild over the north. Generally light winds inland and fresh seabreezes developing along the coastal fringe during the afternoon.Saturday 18 OctoberFine and mainly sunny throughout with just patchy high cloud. Mild to warn throughout with moderate north to northwest winds, locally fresh in the south and afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast. A milder southwest change entering the southwest late in the day.Sunday 19 OctoberWarm to hot in the north and east with moderate to fresh northwest to northerly winds. A cooler, gusty southwest to southerly change over the southwest during the morning, gradually extending to remaining districts, but not reaching the far northeast until night. Remaining dry.Monday 20 OctoberFine apart from the moderate chance of showers over East Gippsland during the morning. Warm inland but cooler in the south with moderate to locally fresh southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Friday.Product IDV10310
