Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 15/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will cross southern Victoria today. A high pressure system south of the Bight will pass just to the south of Victoria on Friday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Saturday. A low pressure trough will enter the far southwest of the State late Saturday before moving across the remainder of the Victoria during Sunday as another high pressure system crosses waters south of the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers in the south at first before a band of showers develops from the west during the morning and then clears in the west later in the day. Isolated showers developing over the northern plains but fine over the far northwest. Snow above 1500 metres. Cool to mild with moderate to locally fresh southwesterly winds.Friday 17 OctoberMorning fog and frost patches inland. A slight chance of showers over East Gippsland during the morning. Dry and mainly sunny over the remainder. Cool in the south, mild over the north. Generally light winds inland and fresh seabreezes developing along the coastal fringe during the afternoon.Saturday 18 OctoberFine and mainly sunny throughout. Warm in the south, warm to hot across the north. Moderate north to northwest winds, locally fresh in the south. A milder southwest change entering the southwest late in the day.Sunday 19 OctoberWarm to hot in the north and east with northwest to northerly winds. A cooler southwest to southerly change over the southwest during the morning, gradually extending to remaining districts, but not reaching the far northeast until night.
