MELBOURNE - Oct 15/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred near Port Lincoln will move slowly eastwards to be over Tasmania by Friday night. A weak trough of low pressure will move over western and southern coastal parts of the State over the weekend then move over remaining parts by mid next week. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine apart from the slight chance of showers over the Lower South East. A cool to mild evening with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 16 OctoberEarly morning frost patches over the agricultural area and Flinders districts. The slight chance of showers south of about Kingscote to Keith until late afternoon, increasing to medium chance of showers about southern coasts and over the Lower South East during the morning. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the north and west. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, turning east to northeasterly in the west.Friday 17 OctoberEarly morning frost patches in the southeast. A mostly sunny day with slight chance of thundery showers in the far west late afternoon and evening. Light to moderate north to northeasterly winds, freshening in the west during the morning. Winds shifting moderate southerly in the far west during the evening. Mild to warm in the southeast grading to hot in the north and west.Saturday 18 OctoberFine. Mostly sunny in the east, some high cloud increasing in the west. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting southerly in the far west.Sunday 19 October Fine , dry and hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting milder southerly about western and southern coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Sunday are expected to be less than 2 mm over the southern agricultural area with isolated falls of 2 to 5 mm about the Lower South East coast. Nil rain is expected elsewhere. Monday until WednesdaySlight chance of showers extending from the western border on Monday, to reach a line from about Leigh Creek to Renmark by Tuesday evening. Possible thunder over the north and west. Slight of showers about western coasts and over central and eastern districts on Wednesday.
