MELBOURNE - Oct 14/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight will move slowly eastwards to be over Tasmania by Friday night. A trough of low pressure will move over western and southern parts of the State over the weekend. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayA slight chance of showers about southern coasts and ranges. A cool evening with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, becoming light later in the evening.Wednesday 15 OctoberEarly morning frost patches over the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts. A slight chance of showers over the Lower South East. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north and west. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 16 OctoberEarly morning frost patches over the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts. The slight chance of showers south of about Kingscote to Keith until late afternoon, more likely about southern coasts and over the Lower South East during the morning. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the north and west. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, turning east to northeasterly in the west.Friday 17 OctoberEarly morning frost patches in the southeast. A mostly sunny day with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds, freshening in the west during the morning. Winds shifting moderate southerly in the far west during the evening. Mild to warm in the southeast grading to hot in the north and west.Saturday 18 October Fine. Mostly sunny in the east, some high cloud increasing in the west. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting southerly in the far west. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Saturday are expected to be less than 2 mm over the southern agricultural area with isolated falls of 2 to 5 mm about the Lower South East coast. Nil rain is expected elsewhere. Sunday until TuesdayFine on Sunday, slight chance of showers extending from the western border on Monday, to reach a line from about Leigh Creek to Kingscote by Tuesday evening.
