Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front over southern coasts will move rapidly northeastwards to be over the northern interiors of the State late Sunday evening. A strong high will develop south of the Bight on Monday and Tuesday, moving only slowly eastwards to be over Tasmania by Friday night.
Forecast for the rest of SundayA slight chance of showers developing over the southern agricultural area and remaining coastal areas late afternoon or evening. Mild to warm in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north. Warm in the north with moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, ahead of a cooler, fresh and gusty southwest to southerly change extending northwards.Monday 13 OctoberA high chance of showers about southern coasts and the Lower South East district, decreasing to a slight chance of showers over the northern agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts. The chance of thunderstorms and possible small hail southeast of about Kingscote to Renmark, contracting eastwards during the afternoon, clearing during the evening. Showers contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Cool to cold in the south, grading to warm in the far north. Moderate to fresh southerly winds.Tuesday 14 OctoberEarly morning frost patches over the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts. A slight chance of showers about southern coasts and ranges to the south of about Cleve to Bordertown, contracting to the Lower South East coast by evening. Cool in the south grading to mild in the far north and west with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 15 OctoberEarly morning frost patches over the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts. A slight chance of showers near the Lower South East coast. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north and west. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 16 October
The slight chance of showers south of about Renmark to Port Lincoln, more likely about southern coasts and over the Lower South East. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the north and west, with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, turning east to northeasterly in the west.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about the southern coasts and ranges and 1 to 2 mm elsewhere over the southern agricultural area, with less than 1 mm over northern agricultural areas. Isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm are possible near the Lower South East coast.
Friday until SundayFine. Becoming warmer from the west to be warm to hot throughout on Sunday. Winds turning northeast to northerly, freshening in the west on the weekend.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
