Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 9/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure near Coober Pedy to Elliston will move eastwards reaching a line Renmark to Moomba late Friday evening. A weak high will move over the Bight on Saturday and quickly move across the State to allow a deep low and associated front to track across South Australia on Sunday. A strong high will develop south of the Bight early next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayWarm to hot at first with light to moderate northerly winds becoming fresher ahead of a cooler, moderate to fresh southwesterly wind change. A slight chance of thunder over southern coastal areas until mid morning. A slight chance of showers about Kangaroo Island and Lower South East coast early in the morning.Saturday 11 OctoberFine. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds, easing during the afternoon.Sunday 12 OctoberPossible early morning fog patches over Eyre Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and the South East districts. A slight chance of showers developing about the coastal parts of the southern agricultural area later in the day. Mild to warm in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate northerly winds shifting moderate southerly during the day.Monday 13 October
A medium chance of showers about the southern agricultural area, more likely about the southern coasts and Lower South East district, decreasing to a chance of showers over remaining agricultural areas and the West Coast district. Cool to mild, grading to warm in the far north. Moderate to fresh southerly winds easing during the day.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about southern agricultural and adjacent areas. Less than 2 mm elsewhere. Isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm are possible about the Mount Lofty and Southern Flinders Ranges, and about the central and southeast coasts.
Tuesday until ThursdayThe chance of showers about southern agricultural areas contracting south and clearing later in the period. Generally cool to mild with south to southeasterly winds, becoming warmer mid-week as winds turn east to northeasterly.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
