MELBOURNE - Oct 9/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over far eastern Victoria will drift eastwards to reach the central Tasman Sea by Friday morning. A low pressure trough is expected to enter western Victoria on Friday afternoon before weakening on Saturday as a weak ridge of high pressure develops over the State. On Sunday a trough of low pressure will develop over western Victoria during the afternoon before moving eastwards during Sunday night. A cool to cold and gusty southerly airstream will develop over the State on Monday as a deep low pressure system crosses Tasmania. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine. Light northwesterly wind and weak coastal seabreezes.Friday 10 OctoberIsolated showers developing in the southwest during the morning and extending eastward during the day, though remaining dry in the far north and east. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of an southwesterly change in the west later.Saturday 11 OctoberIsolated showers in the south clearing by the afternoon. Fine in the north. Warm in the north but milder in the south with light to moderate southerly winds developing.Sunday 12 OctoberFine apart from isolated showers developing late in the southwest. A warm day with moderate north to northwesterly winds ahead of a cool change reaching western areas during the afternoon.Monday 13 OctoberScattered showers in the east tending to rain at times. Isolated showers in most other areas turning to scattered showers near the coast. Fine over the far northwest.
