Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 9/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred near Adelaide extends a ridge across the south of the state. The high will drift slowly eastwards across New South Wales, reaching the Tasman Sea on Thursday night or Friday morning. A low pressure trough will reach the far west of the state on Friday, and then move east to be over central parts of the state, bringing more unsettled weather for the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Friday 10 OctoberEarly morning fog patches in the east. Slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the northern inland. Fine elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds, freshening along the coast in the afternoon.Saturday 11 OctoberMedium to high chance of showers and thunderstorms north from the Hunter, mainly over the ranges and western slopes. Fine in the far west and in the south. Northwest to northeasterly winds through the eastern half of the state, with fresh southerly winds developing in the far west and along southern parts of the coast.Sunday 12 OctoberSlight to moderate chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly on and west of the ranges. Northeast to northwest winds, freshening along the coast. A south to southwest change in the far west later in the day.Monday 13 OctoberHigh chance of showers over the southeast. Slight to moderate chance of showers elsewhere, apart from the far north coast and the far northwest. Chance of thunderstorms over much of the east. Strengthening northwest to northeast winds ahead of a southwest change spreading through the west and south.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Friday.Product IDN10031
