Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 7/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weakening low pressure trough will move through far northeast NSW today as a high near Adelaide extends a ridge over southern NSW. Some shower activity is expected over the coast and adjacent ranges today due to the onshore, southeasterly stream between these systems. The high will move slowly to the east to be centred over the Tasman Sea by Friday with winds turning northerly over the state and becoming warm to hot in the west. The next trough system is expected to cross the state slowly over the weekend with isolated shower and thunderstorm activity likely with it in the east.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayHigh chance of showers along the coast with a medium chance on the adjacent ranges, most likely on central and mid-northern parts of the coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh along the northern coast.Fire Danger -  Very High in the Northern Slopes Fire Area.Thursday 9 OctoberMedium chance of showers along the central and northern coasts, with a sight chance of extending to the adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Friday 10 OctoberSlight chance of showers developing on the northern ranges and the far west and southwest later in the day. Fine elsewhere. Generally light winds, with coastal afternoon seabreezes.Saturday 11 OctoberHigh chance of showers in the northeastern inland, possibly extending to areas from the south coast to the east of the Upper Western district. A medium chance of thunderstorms through much of the northeastern third of the state. Fine in the far west and southwest. North to northeasterly winds through most of the state, becoming south to southwesterly in the far west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Wednesday.Product IDN10031
