MELBOURNE - Oct 7/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight will move steadily east and will cross northern Victoria on Wednesday night and Thursday morning then move out over the northern Tasman Sea by Friday morning. A low pressure trough is expected to enter western Victoria later on Friday before drifting across to the east of the State on Saturday. A cold front looks set to move from the Southern Ocean to affect Victoria on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts contracting to the coast this evening. Cool and partly cloudy with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, easing a little inland.Wednesday 8 OctoberScattered showers near the coast. Isolated showers over remaining southern and mountain districts, mainly during the afternoon then clearing at night. Fine in the far north. Cool to mild and partly cloudy with moderate to locally fresh west to southwest winds easing inland and tending more southerly in the north.Thursday 9 OctoberIsolated morning showers near the coast and inland early morning fogs, then fine. A mild and mostly sunny day with light winds tending northwesterly. Afternoon coastal sea breezes.Friday 10 OctoberIsolated showers developing over the southwest and about the eastern ranges but otherwise dry with increasing cloud. Mild to warm with moderate northerly winds, tending southwesterly in the far west late in the day.Saturday 11 OctoberIsolated showers in the south. Fine in the north.
