Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will enter western Victoria late this afternoon then reach central districts this evening and clear far eastern Victoria early Tuesday morning. The next high pressure system will move over the Bight on Tuesday and will be located near Adelaide on Wednesday but will extend a ridge across northern Victoria. The high will weaken as it drifts across northern Victoria on Thursday then a weak cold front should brush the victorian coast on Friday morning.
Forecast for the rest of Monday
Warm strengthening northerly winds, locally reaching gale force about southern and elevated areas shifting cooler squally westerly from the west early this evening with the change reaching eastern areas by midnight.
Scattered showers spreading eastwards and possible thunderstorms with the change. Rain later tonight over the northeast. Areas of dust developing with the change over the northwest.
Tuesday 7 OctoberRain areas clearing from the east early morning. Scattered showers over remaining southern and mountain districts becoming more isolated by the afternoon then contracting to the coast and eastern ranges. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, strong to gale force about the Central and Gippsland coast in the early morning.Wednesday 8 OctoberScattered showers near the coast and isolated showers over remaining southern and mountain districts. Fine in the far north. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds easing inland and tending more southerly in the north.Thursday 9 OctoberIsolated showers near the coast but fine elsewhere. A mild and mostly sunny day inland. Light to moderate northwesterly winds.Friday 10 OctoberIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, scattered about the eastern ranges and over South Gippsland. Mild inland and cooler near the coast. Generally light winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
