Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure system just west of Victoria will move across the State today and will combine with another high pressure system over the northern Tasman Sea tonight. A cold front will move rapidly towards Victoria on Monday, reaching western Victoria late afternoon and central and eastern districts in the evening and at night. The next high pressure system will move over the Bight on Tuesday, but will remain west of Victoria on Wednesday as a cold front passes to the south of Tasmania.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine apart from patchy early morning drizzle in the south. Cool to mild in the south with areas of cloud clearing to a generally sunny afternoon, although some cloud persisting over East Gippsland. Mild to warm and mostly sunny over the north. Southwest to southerly winds across most districts, but northwesterly winds persisting for most of the day over the northeast.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate.Monday 6 OctoberWarm to hot day with northerly winds strengthening in the west and south. A cooler, fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly change reaching the southwest in the afternoon, central districts in the evening and the east at night. Scattered showers developing from the west with the change and tending to areas of rain in the east later in the evening. Chance of afternoon storms in the north and east. Areas of dust developing with the change.Tuesday 7 OctoberRain areas clearing from the east early morning. Isolated showers in remaining southern and mountain districts, generally contracting to the coast and east ranges during the afternoon. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 8 OctoberScattered showers on and south of the ranges. Mainly fine over the northern inland, apart from the chance of an afternoon shower in the south. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds, strong at times about the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
