Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A small high pressure system south of Port Lincoln will move steadily southeastwards today ahead of a strong cold front moving across South Australia on Monday. Another high pressure system will develop over the far west on Tuesday and then move eastwards to be centred over Gulf Waters on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayPatchy fog mostly about the Mid North district until 8 am. The chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in far west, extending eastwards during the day to reach Lower Eyre Peninsula and western Kangaroo Island in the evening. A warm day grading to hot in the west and north. Winds turning light to moderate southeast to northeasterly, becoming northerly and freshening in the west.Monday 6 OctoberWarm in the south, hot over the remainder with fresh to strong and gusty northerly winds developing ahead of a milder, fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly wind change in the far west extending rapidly eastwards to reach Port Augusta to Adelaide around midday, Renmark to Leigh Creek late afternoon and into the far northeast of the State in the evening. The chance of isolated showers developing south of about Leigh Creek, more likely near southern coasts, with possible thunderstorms ahead of and near the change. Areas of raised dust across Pastoral, Flinders and parts of the northern agricultural area.Tuesday 7 OctoberFine apart from a chance of showers over the agricultural area, chiefly over the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south with moderating west to southwesterly winds. Mild to warm in the north with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 8 October
Cool to mild about the southern agricultural area grading to warm in the north and west. The slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting southwards to be confined to the Lower South East by evening. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending east to northeasterly in the west.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 1 mm south of about Leigh Creek, with possible falls of 2 to 5 mm near southern coasts.
Thursday until SaturdayFine on Thursday apart from the chance of isolated morning showers in the Lower South East. A trough of low pressure will move across the State on Friday and Saturday with the chance of isolated showers extending from the west over areas south of about Leigh Creek. Temperatures rising ahead of the trough with northerly winds, shifting milder southwest to southerly following the trough.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
