Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will gradually move east during the next few days, maintaining a generally northerly airstream over the state over the long weekend. A weak cold front is expected to affect the south of the state on Sunday. A stronger cold front is expected to cross New South Wales during late Monday and Tuesday triggering showers mostly over the southern half.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms clearing in the northeast inland, chiefly near the Queensland border. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds, freshening along the coast. Dangerous surf.Sunday 5 OctoberFine and mostly sunny, apart from the chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast. The chance of late drizzle patches on the South Coast and adjacent ranges. Early fog patches. A hot day in most areas. North to northwesterly winds, and a southerly change developing in the south.Fire Danger -  Very High in Greater Sydney Region and Greater HunterMonday 6 OctoberThe chance of early drizzle patches on the southern ranges. Isolated afternoon showers in the south, more scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges. The chance of late thunderstorms on the alps. Early fog patches. A warm to hot day in most areas. Winds tending northwest to northeasterly, fresh in the far west ahead of a late southwesterly change.Tuesday 7 OctoberIsolated showers in the east, more scattered in the southeast. Fine in the west. North to northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler west to southwesterly change extending through most districts by late evening.Wednesday 8 OctoberIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges.
